Advisory Service for further or higher education in the UK (currently in music only)
Consultations are available on an individual basis from consultants who are visiting professors and lecturers at several conservatoires and universities in England
They offer a diagnostic consultation for students who are unsure of their own abilities. They also advise on the standards and procedures required in order to be successful in their application for a degree/postgraduate course in music
Each consultation will include advice and training on the following, where appropriate: · Course choice and suitability · Performing standard requirements · Audition aural paper requirements · Academic entry requirements · Further progression (e.g. postgraduate courses)
Further information and cost: We can often provide this service at very short notice · A full consultation close to Central London with a ‘mock audition’ costs £80 · A more general consultation costs £50 per hour · Telephone consultations are charged at £20 per half-hour · Consultations via email (see below) are charged at £30 per email sent from the consultant

What We Offer · Consultations via E-Mail · One-off consultations or a series · This service in available to individuals only
How does it work? · This works as a correspondence form of consultation. · You write, we respond · You negotiate with the consultant how often and how many consultations you want · You negotiate timing of consultations with the consultant · A "consultation" is a single e-mail exchange between the client and the consultant · There is no obligation to continue beyond each consultation · Payment for consultations must be received a minimum of one week in advance of the consultation
For whom is an email consultation useful? · For people living in areas where it is difficult or impossible to arrange a suitable face-to-face consultation. This particularly applies to prospective students outside the UK · For people whose schedules make attending appointments difficult · Sometimes it can be helpful to arrange an occasional email consultation as part of an ongoing face-to-face or phone consultancy.
How do I set it up? · Contact us here in the first instance · You can ask any questions you might have about how email consultations work Once we have agreed on email counselling, you send payment by post, wire or PayPal · We send you a set of questions which we use for a first consultation · You respond to the set of questions for the first consultation · Your consultant responds to your email within 48 hours where possible · Subsequent consultations are pre-arranged and consist of a single two-way email exchange between you and the consultant |
